Equality and Diversity Policy

Aylesbury Town Bowls club is dedicated to encouraging a supportive and inclusive culture amongst the whole of its membership.  The first statement under membership in our constitution is “Membership of Aylesbury Town Bowls Club shall be open to all persons regardless of nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religious or other belief, ability, or disability.”

Our aim is to ensure that all members and new member applicants have an equal opportunity and that our organisation is representative of all sections of society. We provide aids to assist members/potential members with varying physical impairments. Every member is treated fairly, with respect and valued enabling them to give their best as a result.

This policy reinforces our commitment to providing equality and fairness to all in our members and not provide less favourable facilities or treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender identity, race, nationality, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, and socio-economic background,

When selecting new members, it will be based on their aptitude and ability to play the game at any level. All members will be offered help and encouragement to develop their full potential.

To create an environment in which the individual differences and contribution of every member is recognised and valued.

To create an environment that promotes everyone to treat and be treated with dignity and respect whether members, spectators or visiting teams.

To not tolerate any form of intimidation, bullying, or harassment.

Make coaching and development available to all members.

To encourage anyone who feels they have been subject to discrimination to raise their concerns so we can apply corrective measures.

To regularly review all our policies and adopt best practice from our governing body Bowls England.
