Child Safeguarding Policy
- Children are the future of our sport.
- Aylesbury town bowls club will always follow the guide lines of safeguarding, in order to ensure that children using our club facilities feel safe.
- All children are entitled to feel safe and protected from any form of abuse and neglect.
- This is important in the process of keeping them safe and helping them to enjoy bowls.
- Everyone in the club has a part to play in safeguarding children.
- Those having regular contact with children have a key role in supporting the statutory agencies to keep them safe.
- Safeguarding is everyones responsibility.
- The three safeguarding partners are (Local authorities, chief officers of police and clinical commissioning groups.
- The safety and welfare of children is paramount.
- All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, reassignment, race,
- (including ethnic origin, nationality and colour,) religion or belief, sexual orientation have a right to enjoy their sport free from abuse and poor practise.
- It must be recognised that some children have additional vulnerability, which may be due to disability, language, sexual orientation, culture, the impact of previous experiences.
- All concerns and allegations of abuse and poor practise will be taken seriously and responded too swiftly and appropriately.
- Views of children will be listen to, valued and respected.
- No adult should be left alone with a child: ie if a parent or guardian is late to pick up. The adult should try and get another adult to stay until the child is collected.
- Any concerns over children must be reported to the Club’s Safeguarding Officer, or in the event of not being available, to a senior committee member.
