Update to all Full and Social Members
AYLESBURY TOWN BOWLS CLUB. MEMBERS UPDATE
Hi Everyone. Following the recent relaxation of certain Government Regulations and guidance received from Bowls England your Committee has decided to reopen the GREEN for Social Bowling on Monday 1st June, however there will be many restrictions you will need to adhere to.
You must follow the Government Guidelines regarding your own health/age/vulnerability situation, remember we have a duty to protect each other as well as ourselves. We will be providing hand sanitiser gel (alcohol based) and other such materials but please feel free to use your own if you so choose/prefer.
Initially, bowling will be limited to 3 rinks of singles (a maximum of 6 people on the green at any one time) and a new Rule Sheet for Social Distancing Bowling is attached. Please familiarise yourselves with both this document, and our club's new Rules before you book your first visit to bowl. For further guidance you can also visit the Bowls England website and seek their update of 14th May.
To be able to book a roll up you will need to be a paid up member of the club (full or social), no visitors or spectators will be allowed. You will need to have your own bowls/shoes as the equipment shed will remain locked. Dress code will be relaxed to "smart casual" for all sessions but please no jeans.
You or your playing partner will need to have keys to be able to unlock/lock the gate and the toilet corridor door, do not assume "someone else will do it" we must keep the club secure. If you need to obtain keys please contact our club treasurer Malcolm (01296 483847) who can arrange this. NOTE:- Whoever is the first person to unlock the gate and building must then wash/sanitise their hands and the gate/door handle, and whoever locks up must sanitise their hands and the door/gate handle using materials which can be taken from the supply in the main corridor or the gel dispenser by the gate.
Access to the toilets for both Ladies or Gents will be via the main entrance corridor but please ensure you maintain Social Distancing at all times as this corridor is too narrow for 2 people to pass. If the toilets are used please sanitise any surfaces you may touch with the appropriate material provided, including the entrance door handles.
A First Aid Kit will be positioned in the main corridor but with the new restrictions on numbers we cannot guarantee there will always be a registered first aider on site.
The kitchen, dining room and lounge areas are not to be entered, therefore there are no refreshment facilities available, please bring you own drinks with you and take any rubbish home.
Please travel to/from the club independently (unless from the same household), arrive in the clothing you intend to bowl in as the Changing Rooms are not to be used, other than perhaps on your first visit if you need to get your equipment from your lockers. Please use the couple of benches that have been set out around the green to change your shoes and leave any personal belongings on the bank behind your green and within "eyesight". Please take your bowls/shoes etc. home after each visit. NOTE:- If you do need to access your locker please sanitise any adjacent surfaces you may have touched.
We will be using alternate rinks and plan to have 5 x 2hr sessions per day commencing at 10.00 - 12.00 - 14.00 - 16.00 - 18.00, please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your session starts. The bowling will be limited to 1.5hrs per session thus allowing you time to leave the green, change your shoes, lock the building and gate before anyone arrives for the next session. Bookings can be made up to a week in advance by contacting Helen or Malcolm (Webber) on 01296 483847 between the hours of 09.00 and 18.00 and if there is no reply leave a message with your name/number and interest and you will be contacted asap on their return. When booking please confirm whether you wish to play as an individual or whether you are happy to be "paired up" with another individual or whether you are booking as a rink, (in this case please provide names of both people bowling on your rink). This new booking system will be monitored (and reviewed) but at this time we would ask that you do not book more than 2 sessions at any one time in order to give as many members the opportunity to bowl as possible. Full members are entitled to book a session for every other day and Social members are entitled to book a total of 2 sessions per week, however, subject to availability Full members can always "phone on the day" to see if there are any free spaces.
Mats and Jacks will be left in the main corridor along with sanitiser spray and wipes, for use before you bowl, and when you have finished bowling please return/sanitise equipment to the corridor do not leave it on the green. NOTE:- Please sanitise bowls equipment outside.
These rules are subject to change at any time (and at short notice) and we will continue to be guided by the Government and Bowls England.
Again I ask you to take note of the new rules we have put in place and remain vigilant thus allowing us to return to and ENJOY this game we all love.
Take care, be safe and stay well.
Chairman Keith

We are a very friendly club with a good mix of competitive and social bowlers, we have entries in National, County and local competitions and leagues. All members are encouraged to participate in internal competitions and to represent the club in external competitions. However those colleagues who wish to bowl on a purely social basis are considered equally valued members of the club.
Friday evening is 'Club Night', where teams are drawn to give a good balance of experience, and less experience bowlers the chance to play together the majority of people stay to enjoy a social drink and a hot dog after the game.
There is a 'more casual' roll up every Tuesday morning starting at 10:00am sharp ( sign in by 09:55 ) when new bowlers can find themselves paired with and learning from the more experienced players in the club.
New members of all ages and abilities are very welcome and coaching sessions are run on Saturday mornings and other times by arrangement.
During the winter we have carpet bowls sessions in the main clubhouse as well as other social events including quiz and race nights.
New bowler or very experienced, major competition standard or purely social bowler - the main goal at AYLESBURY TOWN is :
